The weekends are a great time to meet up and eat out with friends. The problem is picking a restaurant that offers options for a conscious low-carb eater. Lucky for us, we discovered a new spot via Yelp that is unique to Wellington and now South Florida – Bolay.

Bolay (pronounced bo-lay) specializes in customizable “bols” jam-packed with fresh and flavorful nutrient-rich super foods. It will remind you of Chipotle Mexican Grill with the “build-your-own-meal-line-style” — but the similarities pretty much end there.

For starters, Bolay’s menu is full of delicious gluten-free, low-carb, low-fat, vegan options (say that three times, ha). All the categories include options for meat-eaters, vegans, vegetarians  and pescatarians:

There are three “bol”/bowl sizes to choose from: large, small and kids. My first time here, I tried a large build-your-own-bowl: golden kale salad and baby spinach (2 bases), smoky cauliflower and balsamic tomatoes (2 veggies), lemon chicken and bbq chicken (2 proteins), feta cheese and minted tomatoes (toppings) and finished it off with a side of carrot ginger (sauce). The bowl was delicious people!

To complete your meal, Bolay also serves housemade, cold pressed juices, infused teas with Stevia options  and soda pop sweetened with cane sugar instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Bolay currently has 4 locations: Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton and Pembroke Pines with a 5th opening soon in West Palm Beach. Drop a comment and let us know if you love it as much as we did (or if you absolutely hated it).
