If you’ve ever lost a loved one, you know how stifling grief can feel. And if you had a way to release and find peace, even just a little, wouldn’t you want to?

I tried not to cry, but it was no use. This is one of the most heartfelt and touching NPR podcasts I’ve ever heard, listen to the “This American Life” episode here.

I won’t spoil it by leaking details or summarizing the contents. It is a well fleshed out podcast and told extraordinarily well. Please listen. Let’s keep Ōtsuchi, Japan in our prayers. Losing someone is never easy. Not knowing where they are after six years is even worse.

This particular segment is in the first 25 minutes of the hour long program. If you want to get a new perspective on forgiveness and no regrets – stay for the full program. Two brothers in their 80’s finally speak after years of bitter silence. It won’t make you cry, but it’ll make you smile. It’s all about balance. Mazal Tov.

*As we went to publication with this scheduled blog post in September 2017, Japan experienced a M6.1 earthquake. The effects of hurricanes can lead to tsunamis and dangerous surges for the people there. We encourage you to pray for and donate to reputable recovery organizations to help the people of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Houston, Florida and New Zealand. These are tough times. Much prayer, much power.*
